Between Volcanoes and Hearts: The Soul of Finca Colorado Springs
High in Carrizal de Alajuela, where the Poás and Barva volcanoes embrace the horizon, lies a land rich with stories of family, dedication, and a deep love for nature: Finca Colorado Springs. Since the 1960s, this farm has been much more than a family business; it is a living legacy, now cared for by Patricia Dada, daughter and lifelong companion of its founder, Juan Dada.
Spanning 50 hectares, the landscape blends lush coffee plantations with majestic trees, reminding us that this land is a garden and coffee, its most precious jewel. Though it began as a dairy farm, the finca gracefully evolved—first into a citrus orchard and finally into a sanctuary for coffee. Today, 20 hectares are dedicated to the cultivation of specialty coffee, growing exceptional varieties such as Geisha, Centroamericano, Milenio, Catuai, Caturra, Sarchimor, Catimor, and Excelencia.
Nourished by rich volcanic soils and the generous river that crosses the farm, the coffee plants thrive in ideal conditions, producing beans that delight palates around the world.
But Finca Colorado Springs does more than cultivate coffee; it nurtures care and vision. Its commitment to excellence is reflected in every harvest, and its partnership with Hacienda Sonora has brought its coffee to distant corners, sharing the magic of this fertile land with the world. Colorado Springs is constantly evolving, always open to new paths and alliances.
Here, among coffee plants that whisper to the wind and forests that breathe tranquility, you can feel that each bean is planted and harvested with a love that transcends generations. Finca Colorado Springs is not just a place—it is an experience that honors the deep connection between nature and the human heart.
